On November 20, 2023, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) held a ceremony to celebrate the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2023). Dr. Tran Thanh Nam - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development attended the program.

With 67 years of construction and development at VNUA, lecturers had always tried their best, despite of all hardships and difficulties, to help their students with all their hearts, love and enthusiasm. With numerous contributions and achievements in training, scientific research, and social service, VNUA had been honored to be recognized by the Party and State with many noble awards such as Hero of Labor during the Renovation Period and Ho Chi Minh Medal of Honor, etc.

At the program, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to teachers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, “In addition to being assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training, VNUA is also assigned the task of training by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to serve quality agricultural production and reduce emissions, towards an effective and sustainable agricultural economy".

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam also reminded VNUA’s Board of Presidents that with the advantage of the past 67 years and prestige in the international arena, VNUA should go deeper and continue to expand its innovation and creativity centers in the field of agriculture, green agriculture, and ecological agriculture so that students and alumni could consider the university as a place to start their business. VNUA should promote its activities to continue to bring scientific knowledge into social life.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan also shared that "Looking back at the recent journey, although VNUA has had faced many new obstacles and challenges such as the issue of autonomy, the tendency to choose a career among high school students, the competition and pressure during the context of technologicalization and internationalization of higher education. However, with solidarity, consensus, and determination, we have found opportunities in challenges; We dare to think, dare to do, and together create innovation, overcome difficulties and have achieved encouraging results."

In recent years, VNUA had grasped social needs, the transition of the economy, and new requirements of the labor market, therefore, being able to prepare the best conditions for a multidisciplinary and multifield training strategy. In addition, VNUA had also promoted various activities to improve training quality and international integration.

Facing challenges in the career choice trends of high school students, VNUA always completed its set enrollment targets. Regarding scientific research and international cooperation, VNUA had reviewed and completed important regulations in scientific management and technology transfer activities, creating motivation for these activities to develop and become more disciplined. The VNUA’s Elite, Excellent and Strong research groups continued to demonstrate their leading roles with their growing international publications; while the VNUA’s spin off models were increasingly perfected and running effectively. Besides, there were also many strategic cooperation with important partners such as Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, and Belgium, as well as large corporations of Canada, Australia, and Japan, etc.
