   Historical background and development:
      Luong Dinh Cua Library and Information Center of Hanoi University of Agriculture is a library for specific. It was founded in 1956 with the name of Agro-Forestry University library. The first material capital is inherited from Co-operative Management College’s library and University for Agriculture.

     In the years of war, the librarians constantly strove to build and preserve materials, serve for teaching and learning of staffs and students. The images of librarians still remain in the memories of generations of staff and students in university. Following that tradition, the library has gradually built and developed.

    In 1998, the Library of Hanoi University of Agriculture was upgraded as a Center for information and library and founded by the Decision N4653/QD-BGD dated 17/8/2001 by Minister of Education and Training.

       In 2012, the Center for information and library of Hanoi University of Agriculture was renamed into Luong Dinh Cua Library and Information Center by the Decision of Rector. Luong Dinh Cua Library and Information Center has successfully completed the project level A Higher Education “Up-grading library project” and other projects.

     Now, Luong Dinh Cua Library and Information Center manages information system Intranet/Internet connected to VNUA’s network system by “library portal for managing and exploiting electronic resources” to manage legally and exploit effectively information resources of VNUA (especially in form of digital resources). Aleph software is applied to manage library. The users can search materials by on-line public access catalogue (OPAC), materials are managed by radio frequency identification technology. Service method is changed from closed storage to opened storage with the assistance of security system. The image of library is changing. From the traditional library is replaced by modern electronic library with multi-material resources, modern equipments and flexible service method.
 
Vision and mission:
     To develop into a modern library and making contributions to serve for training and science research of VNUA in industrialization and modernization of agriculture and the countryside as well as to promote regional recognition of VNUA in the field of agriculture and rural development.

     The library is an important and indispensable unit – the second lecture hall of the university, making contributions to implement successfully the mission of VNUA; strive for high quality in training, science research and public service, make contributions to the industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural development.
